G3, in association with interior designer Workstead, was Executive Architect for Jupiter, the midtown branch of lower Manhattan’s King Restaurant. The extensive 2020-2022 renovation of the Rockefeller Center concourse created new spaces around the iconic ice rink. Jupiter now features prominently in the new layout.
The restaurant seats 150 in two dining rooms and features regional Italian cuisine. The project included a large kitchen with an expo kitchen and bar on the concourse level, and a separate prep kitchen on the subcellar level. The expo kitchen is constructed directly beneath West 50th Street, which presented a series of challenges. Its integration with Jupiter’s dining room facing the rink represents a significant achievement for the entire design and construction team.
